With the theme, “High 5 for Season Five!”, the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) enters its 5th Season, July 31, with the presence of the newly-appointed Chairman of the Senate Committee on Games, Amusement, and Entertainment, Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, at the Cuneta Astrodome, Pasay City.

“Sports are just as important as the need for food, just how like someone fill their stomach with food, sports helps fill the space in one’s heart and soul,” Sen. Angara said during his speech about sports in the Philippines which highlighted the achievements of our Filipino Athletes.

The participating schools for this season are: FEATI University, Manila Adventist College, La Consolacion College Manila (LCCM), Philippine Women’s University, Philippine Merchant Marine School, Manila Tytana Colleges (MTC), and St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA).

The search for Ms. ISAA 2013 highlighted the opening ceremony. A triple tie was declared out of the 6 candidates in the contest. The three winners came from the different member schools namely Ms. Tash Muñoz from LCCM, Ms. Ruphia Ramon of MTC and SDCA’s Ms. Maria Hessa C. Saeki. Each of them received a prize awarded by Sen. Angara.

The Ceremonial Toss which was led by Ms. Alyssa Valdez, a member Ateneo Lady Eagles volleyble team, together with the team captains of each school concluded the opening ceremony.
