The 37th National Milo Marathon once again challenged the skills of the athletes, students and marathon enthusiasts for this year’s premiere foot race last July 28 at the Mall of Asia Grounds, Pasay City. More than 40,000 runners joined the country’s most popular marathon and St. Dominic College of Asia students were given a chance to run and raise our flag.

For this year’s event, the Central College Student Council in coordination with Department of Student Affairs and Services conducted a separated contest for the freshmen students who will race this year. With 15 courses that joined the run, each of them had their two representatives and will enter the Dominican “Duo Run”.

Each pair ran in the 5K Division race wherein Liza M. Mesiona and Johnsaint C. Arizabal from Bachelor of Science in Accountancy got the 1st place who ran in 38 minutes and 19 seconds, followed by the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology who won 2nd place with their representatives Nikka Mariz L. Tansingco and Marjune Anthony T. Semilla with 39 minutes and 40 seconds and the 3rd place went to the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with 42 minutes and 40 seconds with their runners Chrizelle Jane R. De Silva and Mark Albert C. Paderes.

The 1st place winners will donate their prize to the chosen school and will be donating trees for planting while the 2nd placer will donate world maps to Sangley Point National High School and the 3rd placer will donate a Philippine flag to SDCA’s adopted school in Longos. SDCA students who joined the Milo Marathon helped the underprivileged students nationwide by supporting the “Help Give Shoes” advocacy of the Milo Corporation. The Duo Run would also enable SDCA to help it’s chosen shools.

Dominican student runners once again proved that they are supportive of the 37th National Milo Marathon and willing to race to help other people.
