With the objective of promoting a greener environment in, the CCSC established the Green Thumb Project which is basically a tree-planting activity.

The said project is aiming to plant 100 trees within this academic year. The first ones were planted during the Brigada Eskwela in Digman Elementary School (DES) last May 23. CCSC officers headed the tree planting activity by transplanting ten talisay seedlings across the lawn of the DES leaving them 90 more trees to plant. These seedlings were expected to maintain the ecological balance in the environment and have new generation of trees for the next years.

This project was not just materialized outside the school but also inside the campus’ premises. Comfort rooms and the offices of different departments are also taking part in the project. CCSC Officers with designated floors are tasked to give intensive care for their plant to help reduce the foul odor inside the comfort rooms.

The mission of the Green Thumb project was three-fold: to help make our environment clean, to promote SDCA as an environmental friendly institution and to help generate more trees in the near future.

In this day and age of global warming, SDCA is helping City of Bacoor to save the next generation by the Green thumb project. As this project demonstrates a simple act of putting down roots can contribute to the future. A simple act that may help the environment in so many ways.
