“Give the Gift of Life. Donate Blood,” this was the theme of the Fifth Blood Olympics held July 30 at the Provincial Gymnasium, Trece Martirez City. The said event was hosted by The Cavite Blood Council (CBC), aiming to have a mass number of blood donations, and delegated by different Colleges in Cavite.

The event served the purpose of emphasizing the importance of blood-letting and how blood donation could make a difference. The event had taken place for the objective of improving the community even in a small degree of having to donate the so-called water within our body’s river.

A Plaque of Recognition  was awarded by Vice Gov. Ramon “Jolo” Revilla III to SDCA, which was a delegate to the said activity, for being the first place in the Blood Olympics. As SDCA took a part to aid, the School of Health and Sciences Profession (SHSP) held their eighth bi-annual blood-letting activity prior to the Blood Olympics in Trece Martires. They gathered 94 bags of blood that exceeds twice more than their previous blood-letting. It was headed by the SHSP student council together with their Adviser, Ms. May Balsomo, with the ten representatives of CBC. This is the second blood-letting activity this year.

The blood-letting activity of SHSP started in the year 2010 that flourished and benefited others. According to the SHSP student council president, Mr. Marcelo Nazareno, “One of the easiest way of saving lives is donating blood and yet it is priceless,” as the president he also believe that in this simple way he and his school can help people.
