The Multimedia Arts Computer Laboratory (MMA Lab) of St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA) had officially opened June 2013, utilizing the room that was once used as the Multimedia Arts Drawing lab.

First initiated as a proposal by Dr. Shanet Ambat, directress of the Information Computer Technology and Multimedia Arts program, the MMA laboratory was built for the purpose of filling a requirement by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). The MMA laboratory is for all students who have a computer subject but the priority are those of the Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts (ABMMA) program. The objective was to help students in subjects particularly pertaining to image, sound, video editing, and desktop publishing.

According to Dr. Ambat, the technology used in the MMA laboratory is said to be of the latest version with each programs and applications updated for the benefit of the students. Through this, they would have a convenient working process for completing projects that require highly-sophisticated programs which are now available in the computers of the MMA lab.

“I want them (ABMMA students) to be well-equipped with all the knowledge and skills they need before they graduate and work in the industry.” a statement by Dr. Ambat.

The MMA lab was established for the main purpose of widening the knowledge and enhancing the skills of all the students that would be working inside the MMA laboratory.
