Shout Out!

By Sharina Anne G. Colina

Have you ever stopped for a while and think of certain things happening around you? And even the simplest thing can get your attention? Well, I’ve experienced this once or twice or thrice. And here are some of the things that caught my interest along with my opinions about it.

“Ay walang tubig!” This is what I often hear to female students whenever I am going inside the comfort room. Yes. No water flowing in the faucet and no flush. And not only that, there are also times that even the drum is empty and the tendency is that the cubicles will not be used because it is unclean and not sanitized properly.

I remember the time when were having our class in room 106 and I noticed some tiny red things above connected in some tubes. WATER SPRINKLERS, that’s what you ‘em. And as I looked at them, a question popped inside my head, if there is no water flowing inside the comfort rooms, and then will there be water coming out from these sprinklers if ever a fire breaks out the school building?

Pull, Aim, Squeeze and Sweep. That is how you use a fire extinguisher which can be found in each level of the school building at the left side of the stairs. And I think, if you know how to use this thing, you can easily put out a fire in case the water sprinklers won’t work.

We will never know when will an accident occur and that is what exactly happened to my classmate. She was caught unaware because of our very oh so shiny so slippery surface on the 3rd floor. Of course making the flooring clean and shiny is a factor for our school to look good but I think it’ll be better if there will be a simple sign to alert the students.

Platforms and promises are what students always hear during the iVote election. But they are not only here for implementing new projects but also for petitions for simple things like a little help to do this and do that and I’m sure that with the help of the CCSC, .students can easily reach out to help for the progress of our school.

Green thumb project is aiming to transplant 100 trees outside the school premises and this is just one of the many plans of CCSC for helping improve the environment. A simple act that can contribute for the betterment of our surroundings involving the students and making them aware of how important it is to preserve our environment.

Every institution has its own flaws and imperfections but alongside with certain imperfections are solutions and precautions. That’s why it is not a hindrance for an institution to grow but it is an opportunity to seek and look for a better transformation.
