“To praise, to bless, to preach” this sums up the teaching of the patron saint of scientists and astronomers, St. Dominic de Guzman. He centered himself into education and learning as well as kindness and charity. And Because of his strong belief in education, he is the patron saint of St. Dominic Of Asia likewise to his aims and principles.

Thursday morning of August 8, St. Dominic Basic Education honored the Feast Day of St. Dominic de Guzman through a Pistahan entitled “Sama-samang kasiyahan, parangal kay Santo Domingo tungo sa patuloy na kaunlaran”.
With their Filipiniana outfits, selected students from Grade 4 danced a karakol, a festive celebration wherein they cheerfully and joyfully carry the image of St. Dominic de Guzman associated by the Student Activities Office of the Basic Education Department headed by Mr. Philip Ortega.

The participants then proceeded to the Alfresco Hall to join in the Eucharistic Mass. A speech was delivered by Dr. Gregorio A. Andaman Jr, SDCA President. The feast concluded with a salu-salo in the Basic Education Building. 

This feast was conducted to remember and to know more about patron saint. It was also a part of their Buwan ng Wika Celebration.
